Tuesday Tell All #7

Welcome to Tuesday Tell All!  I am super excite about today's project.  I know that most of you don't have a problem remembering, but I have a huge problem!  I buy tons of stuff from the Di and then just pack it away.  Since we have moved I have been trying to finish my projects before I get more.

I saw a project the other day, where someone used a picture frame to write down all of their projects.  I thought that was a brilliant idea.  However, I forgot to copy the link, so if you know who did this I would love to give them credit.  So wanted to do one myself for my craft room.  I had just bought a frame that I didn't know what I would do with, but I knew that I would figure something out.  When I saw it, I knew that was what I should do with it.

I was going to do a tutorial, but then I forgot to take pictures in the middle of the process. However, this is how I did it.

  1. I bought a frame from the Di.
  2. Then I took the glass out and sprayed painted it bright red.  I love this color!
  3. Then I cleaned the glass and put it back in the frame.
  4. Get scrapbooking paper  and measure the frame with fun paper.
  5. Put everything back together and hang it where you would like it.
  6. Write ALL of the projects that need to be done.
  7. Enjoy!
This is  after I had spray painted it.

Here is how mine turned out.

I am crazy about it.  Hopefully this week, he will make the desk for my craft room.
(I can hope right)

A while ago my friend's mother in law was teaching her how to sew a baby blanket and wanted to learn. It was so easy and they are one my favorite thing to make for baby showers.   Since then I have made four and have enough material for about ten more.  I want to show you how to do, it is so easy!  If  I can do it then any one can.  Till then, here is the last one that I made for my friend.  I loved the material.

Here is the material:

I am doing a few projects this week, so hopefully in the next two I will be able to show you how to make these super fun blanket.  What do you make for baby showers?

Tuesday Tell All #6

Welcome to  Tuesday Tell All!  Today I want to talk about a program that you all probably now about and I am the last to find out!  That is usually how it works with me. This program helps you to make your pictures look like the pros!

The website is call Pickin, I saw this on a blog this last week and thought  that I would check it out.  I have been on it every day since playing with tons of pictures.  Mostly of my little boy, he is just to cute.  Anyways, this is a free photo manipulation website.  You can do amazing things with it.

There is a couple of ways that you can use it.  You can use the free part or you can pay a little bit of money and then you have more features.  To me I feel as though I can just use the free stuff and that will work for me.  But over all it is not that pricey if you want those extra features.

Let me show you!  Here is one of my bridals! Not my favorite, but very Vogue looking.

Same picture with just a few changes with the program!  Amazing how much better it looks huh?!
This is the picture before I played with it.
Here is one I did of my dad and son.
Doesn't that one just melt your heart?  Anyways, you should check it out!  I am truly in love.

I LUV my Flags!

If you haven't read my blog for very long,  you don't know about my beloved shelf!
I LUV shelves!!!!
I have an addiction.  I actually have 4 shelves, I know my hubbie thinks I have a problem.  This is my favorite one so far!
Sorry, about the picture.  I was so excited to decorate my FAVORITE shelf.  Oh, and I didn't even think to make the couch look nice.  If you know me, I love the 4th of July and I feel very blessed to be an American.  To be blessed with the freedom.

This is the first time I have been able to decorate my shelf since we moved in!  If you can't tell I am really happy to have this done.  No further delay.  Here it my shelf!  My hubbie just laughed at me.

Another thing I love is stars.  I have tons of them.  I have more that I didn't even put up.  Yep, another problem.  I really want to do an American flag out of bead board that I have from our old house.  Maybe, if I can find it.
How about you?  DO you LOVE shelves like me?

Tuesday Tell All #5

Welcome to Tuesday Tell All.  I do know that that today is Wednesday.  Which I didn't know yesterday, funny I know. I was talking with my hubbie and told him I didn't know what to talk about and he asked if I knew that it was Wednesday.  I was so surprised.

Anyways, on to the good stuff!  I have wanted to start doing a meal menu.  I didn't really know where to start and so I haven't start to do it.  Then the other day I was watching a show called, "Good Things Utah."  Which I like to call one of my mommy shows.  This lady was on there talking about her website, it was all about making a menu and great recipes.   So I went to her website and I love how easy it was to use.  Plus it is free!

So the website is Simplify Supper.  I have been working a lot with it and I have been working on a menu and it is SO easy!  First off you just have to make an account, which I haven't seen any junk mail or annoying emails from them.  After you have your account there is tons of thing you can do.  The first page you will come upon is the main page, this will have her monthly menu.  This is where I get ideas.  Then there is a button that you can click on that says View My Calendar.  You can then click that button and it will bring up a blank calendar that you can click on the date and put a recipe there.

Then on the side it will make a shopping list for you!  All you have to do it print it off!  I was so excited about this.  There is TONS of recipes to choose from.  There is even a vegetarian section, which my friend was telling me that it was hard to find.  Also the recipes are REALLY easy!  I LUV this most of all!  Once you get use to what the recipe calls for you can watch the sales and get killer deals for your dinner!

Hop over there and see what you think.  Also I want to let you know I am not getting paid for this.  I honestly love this site.

Ikea!

I know that I don't need to say more?  I have never been there.  So this last weekend my hubbie and I went with my little one and my parents down to Lehi.  I need a break and so we went down there and spent the night.   My mom and I went to Ikea why the boy went to Cabela's.  It was so much fun.

I was so excited to go and then I walked in there!  Oh my goodness.  I was so overwhelmed.  But I loved every second of it.  I was looking for an addition to my craft room that I wanted to work on today.  Instead I am sick and I have a wonderful sister in law that has taken my son so that I can just relax.  Thanks Suzie!!!!  I found where they were suppose to be.  They there, then look in another place, GONE!!!  I was so sad.  Then my sweet mom found them in another place.  I was so excited, I think I yelled, "Hurray."  This is what I bought!
I am making a magnet board and I am going to organize all my small craft items like buttons and paper clips.  I am SO stoked!  My hubbie thinks that I have an addiction.  He was surprised that I didn't buy much.  But when we moved out of his mom's house and we get our own.  That store will be where I spend most of his checks!  Until then I will have to get love the few things that I did get and the prices are amazing!

I also got a funnel that is lime green and I love!  For only $0.99.

I also a bead counter for the little one!  I was to excited and that fact that it was $7.99 is even better!  I was so excited to bring this home so that he could play with it!
My mom feel in love with this a kitchen there and I love this play room white board.  I think that I will do in The next house.
Then there was this!  I would love to have something like this for our TV! I LUV our TV cabinet.  But this is so amazing.

I hope to go again soon.  But I need to have a mission this time.  I need to have a purpose, otherwise I just wander.  If you have one close, go and enjoy!

Tuesday Tell All #4

Welcome to Tuesday Tell All!  When I was pregnant with my little one I wanted to do a rag quilt.  My mother and I went to Joanne's and bought the material.  I came home and was to tired.  I put the fabric away and didn't get around to it till he was over a year. Then I was looking through some blogs and I found a great tutorial.  I wish that I still had the site name.

I don't have any pictures of the steps.  When I have the desire to do one again I would love to show you.  Till then I will just tell you how I did mine. To start out I bought 5 different type materials.  I bought 3 different fabric for the squares and then I bought two solids.  One of the solids were for the middle, instead of the really expensive batting.  All the material was flannel, we live in Utah and I wanted a really warm blanket.

So I cut all of the squares out 10*10 inches.  I did 6 by 6 on the blanket.  When I sewed it I stacked one blue, one tan, and then a print.  Then take and sew it from one corner to the other.  But you don't cut the string, you just keep feeding them through.  When you are done you cut them apart and then you sewing from one corner to the other. Then cut them apart and then decide on the pattern that you want to do.  If you are like me and are not that great at sewing, you pin them together and sew the sides.  Then sew them in strips and then when you are all done with the strips, you sew the strips together.

This is what it will look like when you get to this stage:
This is a close up:

This is the back:
Then comes the fun part snipping, I wish that my hubbie would have taken a picture of the hours that I spent sitting there.  Then you wash it after you  get done snipping.  This is the picture after I washed it.
I loved how it turned out!  My son uses it every night on his bed and I am thinking about doing one for his big boy room in our next house.  When I am over at my parent's house, my dad tries to steal it from my little one. If you have any questions please let me know.  I would love to answer them!
