Tuesday Tell All #3

Welcome Tuesday Tell All, I love that you have stopped by. Today is not a project that I have done, it is a plead for help!  Before we move we had a great neighbor that was redoing there house and getting rid of tons of stuff. I mean two rooms full of stuff!  I couldn't believe what they were going to ship of to the DI or throw away.  When I stumbled on this amazingness, it was like Christmas morning!

Now with that said, I got tons of free stuff!  With that said, I was given a great glass jar that is HUGE!  I have no clue what to do with it.  So HELP!!!!  Here is a picture of what it looks like:
What should  I do with it?  I have a one year old little boy that loves this, so keep that in mind when you are helping me out.  If you read my last post we just moved and I have a craft room.  I was thinking that I could use it for ribbon or something.

I have another glass jar that I found  at the DI for $2.  I know!  There was a lady that followed me around to see if I would put it back.  It was really funny.
Isn't it amazing?  I love the  shape of it. My hubbie couldn't understand why I needed it.  Then I got it home cleaned it up and he told me that he was glad I bought it. I am thinking that it would look great in our bathroom.  We have tons of space and I think that it would be fun to use this somehow.Another thing is that I live with my mother in law and we share a kitchen.  So I can't use this in the kitchen.

Let me know what you think!  Thanks so much.

I am linking to THESE parties.

I love glass canisters! They are great for organizing because you can see into them. I saw a really cute idea the other day that someone filled their glass jar with crayons up to the top and used it as a centerpiece on their kitchen table along with a stack of papers. They too had little kids and it was fun for them because the kids could go and color whenever they felt they needed to be creative. It would be great for me on those nights I am getting dinner ready and all the kids seem to do it get in the way. It looked really cute too. You could use the giant one as a "snack" jar and whenever it gets low you know its time to get more.

You could put the smaller on in your bathroom filled with cotton balls and such. The bigger one can be put in your kitchen or living space with lots of fun decorative balls or fruit

Great finds! I have the same large glass jars in my kitchen (2). I have flour in one and sugar in the other. The glass might make me a little nervous with little ones for their stuff though. I know how tough it is for my 9 nad 14 y/o! Enjoy your treasures! Donna...the 3rd sister

Great looking jars. So many things you could use them for. Try your craft room if you want to keep them away from your little one. Paints, ribbon, fabric scraps, buttons, the list goes on!

I would be careful with the little ones and glass...just sayin'
But you could put all kinds of seasonal items in there-summer:sand and shells with a pillar candle
fall- a bunch of those tiny pumpkins
winter- silver and gold Christmas balls, etc...

I vote for cottonballs or q-tips for the bathroom for the small one, and ribbon in the big one for your craft room!

I use a huge glass jar to house my cookie cutters. It always gets me in the mood to bake cookies when I can instantly see all the cool cookie cutters through the jar.

Aren't those jars just wonderful?? I have six that I bought for .29 each at Goodwill and my Gma just brought me another one this afternoon. I made them into apothecary jars..by gluing candlestick holders on the bottom (I just posted my new springy mantle and I have a few in that display). It was super easy. I am going to use some of mine in the bathroom for qtips, cotton balls and I will be using them at my daughters bday party this weekend...putting black and red candies in them...ladybug theme!! :) Good luck with your ideas!! Have fun!

I have two tall and two short upper cabinets and no pantry, so I need all the help I can get for storage. So I used my glass containers to hold food items that won't dry out - whole grain pasta, brown rice, popcorn kernals, etc. on my kitchen counter.

That big glass one is awesome! Do you use powdered laundry detergent? That would be a good house for it and it would be much prettier than a cardboard box or plastic bucket.

I have that same large canister. I use it for dog food. I put my dog's name in vinyl letters on it for a nice touch. Because it's clear glass it helps me keep track of when I need to pick up more food.

Here's what I did with my glass canister... http://www.thetidynest.com/2010/04/mothers-day-idea.html

I also have one in my laundry room filled with clothes pins used mainly for decorations.

I have a glass canister similar to the larger one. I have it in my kitchen to hold my GNC Women's Vitamin packs.

Terrariums are hot right now, and they're a great way to teach little ones about taking care of different plants, plus you can add a bit of whimsy. The larger one would also make a great fish tank if you take the lid to a glass shop and have it drilled to accommodate plastic hose.

I tend to imagine weird things when you hand me an object.

I recently published two posts with things I did with canister-type containers. Go here:

and here:

There is so much you could do with those. Have fun!

I think the second one you showed would be cute with cotton balls or q-tips as previously mentioned. Uppercase Living as a vinel rub on that says "cotton". That would be cute. Add some ribbon or natural fiber and voila! Cotton ball holder (or qtips)!

My Mum had one of those when we were kids, it had 'goodies' stencilled onto the front of it and she kept it filled with those little treat-size chocolcate bars. Very tempting for us kids to have that in the house, lol. My brother and I always tried to sneak into it and grab a choclate bar but because of the reasonably heavy glass lid, it always made a 'clang' when we touched it so Mum always knew! Gosh we tried hard over the years to get into that jar silently, lol. Thanks for your post, it reminded me of a long-ago memory from my childhood :)

I have a large one in my scraproom that has all of the bits and pieces that I collect in "real life." For example just looking at it now I can see some tags from a shirt I bought for my son, a piece of ribbon from a candle, a business card from a new salon (really cool cardstock and logo), some junk mail and a take out menu from where my husband and sons took me for Mother's day....

show us what you ended up doing!
