Bad Day = Cute Baby Stuff

This last week I was having a really rough day, so after my little boy was in bed I went to work. I have been really stressed with the thought of all the projects that I have wanted to get done before this baby comes.  So I did the two things that I really wanted to get done.

The first was I love the car seat tent.  Even though she will be born in the summer I hate when I go places and the baby isn't protected by anything.  Also everyone wants to touch the babies face.  Grrrrr....  I had someone sneeze on my son when he was just a week old.  I fell apart.  I mean I was a wreck.  With this baby I really wanted to have one!

While I was looking for patterns I came across  this one.  I loved it! I did my handles a little different.  I love how it turned out.

My little boy  was the one that picked out the fabric.  He kept saying, "Oh Mama, I love this.  It is so cute."  I love him.  He is super cute!!!  This is what it looks like on the other side.

Then when my son was born I had someone give me one of those burp cloths that were made from a cloth diapers.  I used it all the time.  Then my mom had another one made.  They are awesome.  I bought the cloth diapers and never made them.  I have had them for 2 years.  I was sick of them staring at me waiting to be made.  I pulled out my scrap fabric, the cloth diapers and I found this tutorial.

It was SO easy.  I thought that it would be harder. I did 9 in an hour and half.  I also did two different stitches.  She did a zigzag and I tried it.  I am not a fan.  Then I tried a straight stitch and liked it much better.  Here is all of them that I got done.  I am so excited to use them!
The girl ones.

I have no idea why the last one didn't flip.  Alwell!

Here are the boy ones that I did for gifts.
I am so excited!  I love that they are done. Plus, the fact that I had all of the stuff on hand.  I didn't have to run out and buy all of the stuff to do these projects.  Now on to the next project that is glaring at me.

What is something you need to get done?

Spring Scrapbooking Overnighter

After I had my son I felt as though I had lost myself.  I was kind a discouraged as we all get.  I was talking with a friend from church and she said, "Do you scrapbook?"  I said I tried to get into it but not much.  She said, "You should come to a scrapbooking over nighter that I go through."  I was really excited I have gone ever since!

In the beginning of April was the Spring Overnighter!  I had some much fun!!  Here are some pictures of our group.

Here is my working space.

I get some much done when I go.  I will post pictures of the pages I got done.

The February Challenage

I have told you all that I was doing things while on my craft store diet.  I wanted to do a tutorial for you.  My mom bought a bib forever ago and I loved how it looked.  So she let me borrow it for the pattern.  I made my son a rag quilt and wasn't sure of the dimensions so I bought way too much material.  Which was a blessing!  I had enough material left over to make cute bibs!

I started out by using the bib as a pattern and I got this cut out.

Then I pinned the whole thing together.  But you need to leave a space open where you can pull it back right side out. I usually leave the spot on the bottom.
This is what it looks like when it is sew but not right sides out.
This is the final product!  They turned out so cute!

Sorry, the lighting is awful!

Look what I found!

As most of you know I am going to having a baby girl in July (or sooner) and I can't wait!  Everything in our house is either trains, cars or dinosaurs.  I am SO excited to see pink!  I have not had a reason to look at the girlie stuff.  I have to say, I am loving!

Well today I was looking at one of my favorite blogs, U create.  You can link up to Ucreate Parties!  I love this place.  I was looking at it and I found this! A lady bug birthday party.

I love lady bugs!  I always have.  I was going to do her room in lady bugs, but till we move she will be either in our room or my little boy's room.  I don't think that he will like that very much!  I will have to wait till we move.

I can have a lady bug birthday party for her first birthday!  I know she isn't even here yet and I am planning her first birthday.  HA!  I am really excited!

The February Challenage

Well I know that it is only a few days into February, but I have been able to do some of the things that were on the list for the month.  Plus I have crazy month with 3 birthdays, which included my hubbie's, Valentine's Day, my brother's wedding and everything else with life.

I am determined to take some time for me.  I haven't been crafting at all lately and I miss it.  Well this week I have jumped in a big way!  I have already been able to do 3 receiving blankets.  Now these ones are for my little one.  The fabric is really special.

The light pink one was extra material from a blanket that my mom made me when I was a teenager.  The dark pink with flowers is one that I bought right after I got married.  I have just put it off till I have been expecting a girl.  Now is the prefect time.  Then the blue cameo was some that I bought when I was expecting my son.  Which never got done because I had tons already.

I actually saw a tutorial to make the receiving blankets over at Living Life On Purpose.  She makes them just the same as I do.  The only difference is the stitch that I use around the edge.  I normally use a straight stitch, but I did use a different one on the pink and flower one!  I was being really brave!

Next I was able to get my beach bag or Capri Sun bag done.  I started this stinkin' bag last spring.  I was sick of it taking up tons of the room in my craft room.  I got most of it done before we moved, but I never got the bottom done.  Well last night I was really brave and I finished it.

Here is my tutorial about how I did mine!

I   started out by getting 42 Capri Sun packets.  Next I laid them out on the ground.  I had a few different flavor, so I wanted to make a pattern with them.
Here is a picture of the front/back of the bag.
Next here is the sides, I used 6 for the sides and 6 for the bottom.  When I took the picture I thought that I would only need to have 3 but I was wrong!

Next,I sewed the front and back, so they were done.  I sewed the into strips and then I sewed them all together.  I used a straight stitch.
Here everything is sewed in there sections.
The 3 that are on the top of the picture, I made into a pocket.  I love pockets.
Here is everything sewed together.

So last night I sewed the bottom on and the straps. Here is the finished product!  I am so excited that it is done!

The last thing that I have gotten done is some of the rolled flowers, they kinda remind me of a lollipop.  I also did a ruffle one too!  Now I just need to get clips.  Not till March!
I think that I put a button in the middle of the flowers.  We will see.  I can't wait to show you what I get done this next week.

So what are you guys up to?  Anything super fun?  If so let me know what!
