The February Challenage

I have been wanting to do this for a while.  I have heard of people who do a 30 day crafting with only what they have on hand.   Well I am here to say today is the start of that.  I will not be going to the DI (or Goodwill) to buy anything.  I will take things that are giving to me, but I can't buy anything.

Here are a few things that are on my list for the month:
  • Fabric Flowers
  • Baby blankets
  • Bibs
  • Bow Holder
  • Redo skirts into dresses
  • Headbands
  • Ruffle Bum Onsies
  • Scrapbooking
  • Cards
  • Flashcards
  • Finish my "beach bag"

The sad thing is this is just a few things that I could  do with what I have on hand. If there is anything that you would like to see a tutorial for just let me know!  I will try to do tutorials for all of them.

My Craft Heaven!!!

SO on Thursday I was looking on KSL Classifies just for fun and I looked in the dresser section when I stumble up on this!!!

I fell in love in a heart beat and she was hard to get to my house.  My hubbie was at work and I didn't have a car seat.  So I  called my parents and my awesome dad came with me with his truck.  We got there and lifted it.  I thought I was going to die!  It is like 75 pounds and I am not even making that up! I thought that it was in better shape then it was. My amazing hubbie and I spent the night stripping it.  (Yes, there were tons of jokes about strippers too).

Later on, I was talking with my hubbie and he was talking to me about it and I said I am super excited about my secretary desk.  He looked at me and said, "That is not what it is called."  I was intrigued.  "What is it called then?"  He smiled and said Your Crafting Heaven."  I couldn't fight with that!

Then on Friday I sanded it down, primed it and painted it! (of course, I forgot to take pictures)  I even got most of the poly on it!  I am going to let it air out over the weekend.  Then it will be put in my craft room!!!  I am so excited I can hardly wait.  I can't wait to show you it!

Tuesday Tell All #14

Welcome to Tuesday Tell All.  I am so excited about last weeks party.  We had 13 entries!  That is the second highest that I have ever had.  Hurray!!!!  So if you are new and just stopping by welcome and be sure to link up!

Now on to the great projects.  I know that in weeks past I have featured all that linked up.  Well I wish that I could do this.  However, it is such a big task that if you didn't get features, doesn't meant that I don't love you project.  It is just that my crazy life is to buzy to do all of them.  So here are a few of this weeks projects.

Clarrisa Emily, over at a little stone house, linked up this amazing Chocolate Truffle.  I was way surprised at how easy it was.  So stop over and get the yummy recipe!

Ellen, over at Creative Passage, hates to buy wash clothes.  Don't we all!  So she shows us how to make them over of old towels.  Such a great idea.  I think when I buy new towels I will just buy two extra towels and make some.  Thanks for this awesome idea!
Jenna, over at Running Wild, show us her awesome entertainment center.  The best part is that she made it with her daughter (silly me, it was her sister!  I am so sorry)!  Cool huh?!
Amy, over at The Happy Scraps, made this super cute tote out of a place mat. I love this idea and that possibilities are endless.
Now it is that time so see what other great projects you have done!

Here is my rules are:

  1. Must be something craftie.  This can be anything!  Projects, Craft Ideas, Organization Tips, Recipes, Ect.

I am so excited to see what you all have for me today.  I don't have a huge project for you today.  But I was so surprised at how this ugly frame turned from  drab to fab!
Ugh!  I know.  I thought that they were awful.  But I knew that they were dieing to be pretty!

So this is what I did.  I sprayed them with primer and  then sprayed them with glossy white.  I usually don't like white.  But I loved the curves and the pretty frames.

Had a bad day, so I went shopping.

Yesterday was kinda a bad day, but it was a fablous day for shopping at the Di!  I could have easily spent over $50.  But I restrained myself.  However, I bought tons of really fun stuff.  I am so super exited!  I have allready decorated with some of it.  I will have to show you pictures later.

I couldn't believe when I found this.  It was marked $3.00.  Wahooo!!  You will please jump into my cart!!!

Then I found this great basket. This was only $1.50.

Then there is this awesome magnet board.  I am going to put this in son's room and then get some alphabet magnets for it.  He will love it.

I have been looking for mirrors and this is actually a tray.  I am going to be making it into a hanging mirror.  I also want to spray it white.

Then I found these for just $3.00.  I really like the paper on them, but it is kinda torn and our bathroom is not pink.  I am going to spray paint them brown.

I have been decorating our bathroom and wanted some cute containers to put my stuff in.  I did a little girl squeal when I found these.

I found another one, but it was shaped like a bell, I don't think that is what I am looking for.  I got a chuckle.

I saved the best for last.  I saw this and I feel in love.  I normally don't like chickens, but this one I had to have.

It is actually a bank, but I will be using it in our kitchen when we move.  Till then I will have to find somewhere to have it!

Bad day, but great day shopping. I will be doing a linking party on Tuesday, make sure you stop by and link up.  I am really excited.  I have never had a link party, so this should be fun.  I can't wait to see your projects!!

Tuesday Tell All #7

Welcome to Tuesday Tell All!  I am super excite about today's project.  I know that most of you don't have a problem remembering, but I have a huge problem!  I buy tons of stuff from the Di and then just pack it away.  Since we have moved I have been trying to finish my projects before I get more.

I saw a project the other day, where someone used a picture frame to write down all of their projects.  I thought that was a brilliant idea.  However, I forgot to copy the link, so if you know who did this I would love to give them credit.  So wanted to do one myself for my craft room.  I had just bought a frame that I didn't know what I would do with, but I knew that I would figure something out.  When I saw it, I knew that was what I should do with it.

I was going to do a tutorial, but then I forgot to take pictures in the middle of the process. However, this is how I did it.

  1. I bought a frame from the Di.
  2. Then I took the glass out and sprayed painted it bright red.  I love this color!
  3. Then I cleaned the glass and put it back in the frame.
  4. Get scrapbooking paper  and measure the frame with fun paper.
  5. Put everything back together and hang it where you would like it.
  6. Write ALL of the projects that need to be done.
  7. Enjoy!
This is  after I had spray painted it.

Here is how mine turned out.

I am crazy about it.  Hopefully this week, he will make the desk for my craft room.
(I can hope right)

I am linking to these parties.

I LUV my Flags!

If you haven't read my blog for very long,  you don't know about my beloved shelf!
I LUV shelves!!!!
I have an addiction.  I actually have 4 shelves, I know my hubbie thinks I have a problem.  This is my favorite one so far!
Sorry, about the picture.  I was so excited to decorate my FAVORITE shelf.  Oh, and I didn't even think to make the couch look nice.  If you know me, I love the 4th of July and I feel very blessed to be an American.  To be blessed with the freedom.

This is the first time I have been able to decorate my shelf since we moved in!  If you can't tell I am really happy to have this done.  No further delay.  Here it my shelf!  My hubbie just laughed at me.

Another thing I love is stars.  I have tons of them.  I have more that I didn't even put up.  Yep, another problem.  I really want to do an American flag out of bead board that I have from our old house.  Maybe, if I can find it.
How about you?  DO you LOVE shelves like me?

Yes, I believe that summer might be here in Utah.  I don't know though.  It might just be a tease.  Well with that I have tons of projects that I need to get done.  I am going to write them down so that I have to finish them in a timely manner.
