Fabulous Friday... is no more

I have enjoyed doing Fabulous Friday.  However,  I feel as though the response was not what I had expected.  So I won't be doing it any longer.  I might think about doing it later.  But as for right now I need to have that extra time and I will be showcasing tons of things that I have been doing lately on Fridays.   Thanks for everything!  Have a great day!

Onions
1 Heaping T. Sage
1 ½ t. Salt

Mix all together except butter. Melt butter and drizzle over bread mixture.  Add *milk to moisten.  Bake at 350 Degrees in a pan lined with foil.

Welcome to Fabulous Friday!

This recipes has come very fun memories of when I was little.  I hated veggies and refused to eat them except for  mashed potatoes and broccoli .  Not together.  But I loved them both.  Since most of you don't know my mom, she is a really great cook and when were little I remember sitting around the table with some really yummy meals.  One of them had broccoli in it.  It is called Thomas Divan up at the Greenery, which is located at the mouth of Ogden Canyon.  I love it and order it almost every time we go there.  My mom being the good cook that she is made up her mind that she could make it cheaper at home.  So she did!  It is super yummy.  I thought that I would give it to you all!

Fabulous Friday

Welcome to Fabulous Friday!  I love today's recipe.  I think I say that every week.  But if you know me, I love food!!!!  The reason why todays is one of my VERY favorites is because I LOVE sugar cookies.  I mean if it is between and chocolate chip or a sugar cookies with yummy vanilla frosting.  The sugar cookie will always win out.

Before and when I was first married I worked at a cooking store.  They sold everything there and had cooking classes.  I loved when they did this class and it was pretty often.  They would do this recipe.  Now this is no ordinary sugar cookies recipe.  It uses sour cream.  Now give it a chance.  I never would have tried these if it wasn't for my boss.  They are SUPER soft and not really super sweet like some that I have tried.

My hubbie is going out of town this week and I think that I will make these and gain10 pounds while he is gone.  (I hate when he leaves, DON"T MARRY A HINTER.  IT IS NOT FUN!!!!!) Anyways, give them a try and let me know what you think! Also let me know if you want a good frosting recipe!

Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

1 C Sugar                       1 C Butter
½ C Sour Cream             2 Eggs
½ tsp. Baking Soda         1 tsp. Baking Powder
4 C Flour                        ½ tsp. Salt

Cream softened butter and sugars.  Add sour cream, eggs and mix well.  Add dry ingredients and mix until incorporated.  Chill 30-60 mins.  Roll to ¼ in. thickness.  *Don’t over the dough.  Cook until just right (you do not want brown edges, but you don’t want doughy centers either.)  Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 mins.

Fabulous Friday

Welcome to Fabulous Friday!  I really love today recipe!  I never liked anything but mashed potatoes. Now that I am a little older and have better taste buds, I love this recipe!  It is super easy and it even freeze well.  My mom always made extra and it would already be made up.  We even made some right before I had my baby and that came in so handy!

Lasagna

1-2 8 Oz pkg of lasagna noodles.  (I like the Regular width noodles instead of the wide noodle.)
2 lbs of hamburger
2 Garlic Cloves- Crushed
1- 8 oz Tomato Sauce
½ C Minced Onions
1-2 ½ C Diced tomatoes (I use one can of tomatoes)
½ t. Salt
¼ t. Pepper
1 t.- 1 ½ t. Ground oregano
½ lb Mozzarella cheese or amount you desire.
Parmesan cheese

Cook noodles 30 mins, Brown hamburger.  Stir in tomatoes and rest of ingredients.  Cook 15- 20 mins.  Layer noodles, sauce, cheese.  Top with parmesan cheese.  Cook at 350 degrees until cheese melts.

This makes a 9*13 pan plus a little extra to put into individual pans to freeze.  Even if there are only 2 in the family it’s good to cook this up and freeze any leftovers in small containers.

This recipe is from My Aunt June.

I hope that you enjoy and let me know if you try it and what you think.

Fabulous Friday

Good morning!  Welcome to Fabulous Friday!   I am so excited about today's recipe.  I need to do more yummy dinner ideas. But I have been kinda stressed lately, so what do you make?  Treats!!!!  This is one of my new favorites.  It is super rich so I don't eat a ton. But I get my sweet fix.

Peanut Butter Balls

1 C Chunky Peanut Butter
1C Rice Crispies
1 Small Jar of Marshmallow Creme (I get mine from Walmart for $0.84)
1 Bag of Milk Chocolate Chips

Mix Peanut Butter, Rice Crispies, and Marshmallow.  Then roll into small balls.  Place on wax paper and put in refrigerator till hard.  After completely harden, melt 3/4 of bag of Milk Chocolate Chips.  Roll balls in melted Chocolate.  Place back in refrigerator till hard.  Serve cold.

Trust me, once you have tried these, you will never but the same.  Also I don't have any of the cool tools that you use to make chocolates, so I just used two spoons.

ENJOY!!!

Fabulous Friday

Welcome to Fabulous Friday!  I just made this week's yummy recipe and I thought that I would share it.  Awhile ago  I was at a friend's house for a girl's night for just me and her.  She made this recipe that she got for her mother in law.  I loved it!  It is a super fating Alfredo sauce.  It is super yummy!

Jodi's Fettuccini Alfredo

1 Cube Butter            1 8 oz. Cream Cheese
2 C. Heavy Whipping Cream    1 C. Parmesan Cheese
2 tsp. Garlic ( Or Garlic Salt)

Melt Butter and Cream Cheese together in pan on stove.  Beat in whipping cream. Add garlic salt.  Heat until hot.  Add parmesan cheese.  Pour over cooked fettuccini noodles (12 oz.). Serve Chicken and broccoli.

Source: Jodi Schenck

You can have any kind of noodles.  I usually use the Pennne pasta.  Also one thing that I cut back on is the Parmesan cheese.  It is not our favorite cheese.   Let me know if you try it, let me know what you think!

Fabulous Friday

Welcome to Fabulous Friday!  I have a yummy recipe for you.  I LOVE this marinate.  Growning up this was one of the only meats that I would eat.  I have not a huge meat eater and I would eat this any time it was made.

We would purchase turkey tenders and use this marinate.  Now in the recipe it calls for marinating over night.  This is important.  You can do it before, but it will not taste as good.

I was kinda stumped today.  What kind of recipes do you want to know about?  I have a few fall one that I am so excited!  But help me out and tell me what you want.

Turkey Marinating

1 part Soy Sauce
1 part Oil
2 Parts 7 up
1/2-3/4 tsp. Garlic Podwer

Mix, pour over meat, store in fridge over night,  mixing or turning occasionally.  It works great in a seal able plastic.

* One can of pop (1 1/2 Cups, 3/4 cup oil, and 3/4 cup soy sauce will do about 5 pounds of meat very well.

Enjoy!  Let me know if you try this and what you think.

Fabulous Friday

Alright, I know that I bombed it last week, but I am prepared this week!  Since we live with my mother in law, she decided that we needed chickens.  So one day she came home and had chicken, and turkeys.  I am not even kidding.  So my hubbie spent all night making them a box to live in for a few weeks till we could get a coup make.

Anyways, we have TONS of eggs.  We get all least 4-5 a day.  So this is one of my favorite recipe if you have tons of eggs that you need to get rid of.  I received this recipe from my super sweet friend, Starla.  We actually had it tonight and it was delicious.  My sister in law had thirds.

German Pancakes
6 Eggs
1 C Milk
1 C Flour
Pinch of Salt
6 T. Butter

Put 6 T. Butter in a 9*13 pan (this is important, because it raises on the sides) and put in oven till it starts to pop.  While butter is melting add eggs, flour, milk and salt together.  You can sift the flour to make it mix better.  When butter is ready, pour mixture into pan and bake 20 mins at 375 Degrees.  If your side are huge, not a big deal.

I have to share with my hubbie did the other day.  I know he won't like. But he never reads my blog anyways.  So he called and asked what I wanted him to start for dinner. I was doing hair.  I told him that we had a ton of eggs, so to do German Pancakes.  He asked how to make them and I told him the recipe. I called him on the way home and he said that he had it in the oven and would be done when I got home.  I was so excited and he was so sweet to do this for me.

Well I walked in the door and the first thing he said was that he did somethings to jazz it up a bit.  I was scared.  He does this all the time and I am a recipe kinda girl.  I asked what he did.  He said that he had used wheat flour.  I was excited to see how they turned out with wheat flour.  But when I went to check on them,  they looked like a cake.  Which they are really thin, so I was way confused.  I asked why and he replied, "don't worry I made a double batch."  I about died laughing.  If you do a double batch you make them in two different pans.  He didn't know this.  Well needless to say, they didn't turn out how he had planned.  Everyone eat them, I had a hard time but it was eatable.

Do you guys have any stories like that?

Fabulous Friday (Saturday)

Did you know that yesterday was Friday?  Hello, neither did I, I am so sorry. I have a super yummy recipe that I had planned!  This Chicken and Rice recipe is one of my favorite dishes from my childhood.  My mom would make this two or three times a month and we always had some yummy leftovers.  It is one dish that you can freeze and reheat and it is really yummy.

Chicken & Rice

1 Chicken, cooked, Deboned, & diced
1 pkg. Chicken Rice-A-Roni
2 Cans Cream of Chicken Soup
1/2 C Chicken Broth or water
Cheese, grated

Cook and dice chicken, then set aside.  Cook Chicken Rice-A-Roni according to directions on the package.  Mix everything together except cheese.  Put into a 9*13 pan.  Add grated cheese (how much you want) on top.  Cover with foil.  Cook for 30 mins at 350 degrees.  Uncover for 5 mins to finish melting cheese.  If you don't over cook, you can freese and reheat.  It freezes great.

(When you cook the chicken, we like to do salt, celery and onions.  It is yummy!)

If you try this, let me know what you think!

The other day I wanted to buy oreos.  Then I remembered how yummy mine are.  I had just organized some of our storage and saw that I had all of the stuff.  I made them and they are so delicious.  They also are super fast to make.  Which is super important to me!

I just have one warning, they are so sweet that you can only eat one or two.  Let me know what you think when you make them.

Frosting

Fabulous Friday!

Welcome to Fabulous Friday!

I am so excited and I hope that you all are too!

Ok, I have a huge confession!  I am not a good cook at all.............In fact I am terrible!  To prove this fact I am going to share a little story with you.  On Sunday (Yes, this last Sunday) I was craving chocolate, so I decided to make these yummy brownies that mom use to make when we were younger.  I started making them and realized that I didn't have any eggs.  After a quick trip to the neighbors I got it done.  I was so excited when I pulled them out of the oven. I cut them while they were still warm and popped it in my mouth.  In less then 5 second I was spitting it out!  It tasted terrible.  I went back and read that recipe to see what I did wrong.  I only forgot the SUGAR!!! Who forget sugar in a dessert recipe!!! I DO!!

Now that you know really how bad I am.  I will share with you the yummy recipes that I actually make.  We had Beef enchiladas tonight.  They are so good and they are so easy.  My hubbie actually like to help me.  He thinks that it is really fun to cook them with me.  I know, I am so lucky!

Super Easy Enchiladas

1 Lb Hamburger
Any Kind of Enchilada sauce
Tortillas (You can use any size, I use the regular ones)
Cheese (To your taste, I use tons)
Chili Seasoning (Optional)
Green Bell Peppers (Optional)

Brown Hamburgers with Onions and Green Bell Pepper.  Drain off the grease.  Add enough sauce to coat the meat well.  Warm up your tortillas in microwave then dip in sauce and coat both sides well.  You can use a pie tin or a plate that has a ridge.  Add a few spoon fulls of meat mixture to center of tortilla as well as shredded cheese.  Roll up the tortilllas in the pan.Add more sauce and cheese to the top.
Place in over at 350 degree for about 20 mins.  Just long enough to melt the cheese.

Let it cool for a few mins.  Then ENJOY!

Now I wish that I could tell you this is my recipe.  It's not, I am not sure where I got it.  But it is to die for!  I honestly could make it and hid the pan and eat them all myself.  But I don't (most of the time).

Chicken Salad Sandwhich

I know that everyone has there own version of Chicken Salad Sandwhich.  This is mine!

Chicken Salad Sandwhich
2 C. Cubed Chicken
2/3 C Tibit Drained Pineapple
1 C Chopped Celery
1/2 C Silver Almonds
1 C Red Grapes
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 C Whipping creme

1/2 C Mayo

Combined everything except Mayo.  Chill for 2 hours.  Then add 1/2 C Mayo.

I know that tons of people like Croissant, but I don't.  I know I am crazy.  But I really don't like them.  I would eat with the salad, but I never loved them!  However, I made it one day because I had all of the stuff and then we didn't have croissants, but we had the French Steak Rolls from Walmart. They are to die for!  We decided to try it.  It was amazing!  Then my awesome hubbie took it a step further and decide to stuff them instead of cutting the roll in half.  It is super yummy.  You all should try this!

Let me know what you think.
