Basment fun

I am SO excited to show you all our fun basement.  Like I said before it is pretty much were we spend about 90% of our time.  This is when we started. None of that furniture was ours.
The previous owners asked if they could have the carpet since we were taking it out.  I glad gave it to them.  However, the carpet was in amazing condition and super nice carpet.  Just not my color or style!
Here are a few of the demo!  Those spots are dust.  Gross!!  But that hunky guy is my super handsome husband!  I know I am SO lucky!!

This is after we pulled down the paneling down.  They did something that I haven't really seen before.  They sheet rocked and then put paneling over it.  Why I am not sure, but we were so excited that we didn't have to spend that money!!!
No home reno job is complete without surprises!  Do you know what is from?  Not mold!
That would be from termites.  Yep, you read that right.  We found termites!  I was sick!  But we had a bug come and take care of them.  But I want them to come back and make sure that they are all gone!!!

Here are the before pictures of my craft room if you didn't see my last post.
Here are the pictures of the Craft room during.
The stove thing was a canning kitchen and it was really nice, the only problem is we wanted this to be a bed room for our little boy when we have more kids.  So we thought that since we are carpeting we might just want to take it out.  Which we are happy that we did because we found this where the sick was.  Yep, that would be mold!
My hubbie and I got talking and there were 4 closets in the this room.  which took up a ton of room.  We decided that we would keep the 2 big closets and take out the 2 small ones.  Which I was kinda worried about.  But now that we did it.  I love it!!
Bye bye closets!

This is the stairs without all that crazy wallpaper, mirrors, and carpet.
Here is the basement after we had textured painted it. (Again with the sideways! Does anyone know how to fix this?)

Here is the craft room before carpet!  Without those two small closets.  It makes the room SO much bigger!
Lat but not least!  The Family room with carpet!!!  I love the carpet.  However, I will never go through the company that we did again!!!!  They broke the sheet rock in two places and told us that there is nothing that they would do about it.  Grrr!!!!
We are still working on the baseboards, painting the doors and the door jams, decor and the placement of furniture.  I can't wait to show you everything when it is done.  Just a few more things and this is officially checked off the list!

The February Challenage

I have been wanting to do this for a while.  I have heard of people who do a 30 day crafting with only what they have on hand.   Well I am here to say today is the start of that.  I will not be going to the DI (or Goodwill) to buy anything.  I will take things that are giving to me, but I can't buy anything.

Here are a few things that are on my list for the month:
  • Fabric Flowers
  • Baby blankets
  • Bibs
  • Bow Holder
  • Redo skirts into dresses
  • Headbands
  • Ruffle Bum Onsies
  • Scrapbooking
  • Cards
  • Flashcards
  • Finish my "beach bag"

The sad thing is this is just a few things that I could  do with what I have on hand. If there is anything that you would like to see a tutorial for just let me know!  I will try to do tutorials for all of them.

I was Featured!

Ok,so if you don't know me personally, I am kind of a nerd.  Now I don't say that to put myself down.  It is really true!  I am the type of person who when something happens like this it truly means the world to me.  I talk about it for days and I am on a high and it helps me want to do more projects.  I hope when I do features on my site you feel the same way.

There is this great blog called House of Grace.  She was so sweet and featured my Crafter's Haven.  I love am so honored and I love that she calls them He Twice Owed Queens.  I am a QUEEN!!  I will have to let my hubbie know so that he can honor me!  Haha, just kidding.  He already knows that!

You should go check out her party!  It is such a fun party and you should add it to your linking party list.  It is so fun to see what other people's creative think of.  Because I would never think of that!

My Craft Heaven!!!

SO on Thursday I was looking on KSL Classifies just for fun and I looked in the dresser section when I stumble up on this!!!

I fell in love in a heart beat and she was hard to get to my house.  My hubbie was at work and I didn't have a car seat.  So I  called my parents and my awesome dad came with me with his truck.  We got there and lifted it.  I thought I was going to die!  It is like 75 pounds and I am not even making that up! I thought that it was in better shape then it was. My amazing hubbie and I spent the night stripping it.  (Yes, there were tons of jokes about strippers too).

Later on, I was talking with my hubbie and he was talking to me about it and I said I am super excited about my secretary desk.  He looked at me and said, "That is not what it is called."  I was intrigued.  "What is it called then?"  He smiled and said Your Crafting Heaven."  I couldn't fight with that!

Then on Friday I sanded it down, primed it and painted it! (of course, I forgot to take pictures)  I even got most of the poly on it!  I am going to let it air out over the weekend.  Then it will be put in my craft room!!!  I am so excited I can hardly wait.  I can't wait to show you it!

My Maganet Board!

Welcome Welcome!  I am so glad that you all came for Tuesday Tell All! I have an amazing hubbie and I was able to get some crafting done this weekend. Hurray!  I have been wanting to do somethings.  This is one of them.

A while back I got the idea to do a magnet board.  One day I was out thrifting with my friend Katie and she told me about a sweet sale on huge frames at the Di. They were all half off, so of course I wanted to go.  If I had more room I would have bought more then just one.  But this is the one that I decided on.

I bought a Rustoleum Ultra Cover 2x Aqua Spray paint.  I LUV this stuff! I was amazed at how amazing this stuff is.  I love how it turned out!

Then my friend gave me a piece of sheet metal for my birthday.  I covered it with brown burlap and glued it to the frame.  I am so excited to for the new addition to my craft room.

I then went to Ikea and got these awesome containers!  I can't wait to organize and fill them up.  My craft room is coming together great!  I can't wait till I have done some more to show you.

Now on to the linking party!

Had a bad day, so I went shopping.

Yesterday was kinda a bad day, but it was a fablous day for shopping at the Di!  I could have easily spent over $50.  But I restrained myself.  However, I bought tons of really fun stuff.  I am so super exited!  I have allready decorated with some of it.  I will have to show you pictures later.

I couldn't believe when I found this.  It was marked $3.00.  Wahooo!!  You will please jump into my cart!!!

Then I found this great basket. This was only $1.50.

Then there is this awesome magnet board.  I am going to put this in son's room and then get some alphabet magnets for it.  He will love it.

I have been looking for mirrors and this is actually a tray.  I am going to be making it into a hanging mirror.  I also want to spray it white.

Then I found these for just $3.00.  I really like the paper on them, but it is kinda torn and our bathroom is not pink.  I am going to spray paint them brown.

I have been decorating our bathroom and wanted some cute containers to put my stuff in.  I did a little girl squeal when I found these.

I found another one, but it was shaped like a bell, I don't think that is what I am looking for.  I got a chuckle.

I saved the best for last.  I saw this and I feel in love.  I normally don't like chickens, but this one I had to have.

It is actually a bank, but I will be using it in our kitchen when we move.  Till then I will have to find somewhere to have it!

Bad day, but great day shopping. I will be doing a linking party on Tuesday, make sure you stop by and link up.  I am really excited.  I have never had a link party, so this should be fun.  I can't wait to see your projects!!
